Job scam quick guide: it's a scam if...

  • they want you to collect and forward money in any way (a "money mule" job). You'll wind up engaged in money laundering, personally defrauded via expertly forged cheques, money orders, etc, or defrauding someone else who pays for goods that never arrive.
  • they want you to receive packages and reship them somewhere else. The goods will have been obtained fraudulently, and they're just using you to make the shipping address appear local. You will be aiding fraud.
  • they want up-front payment (either to them or someone else) of any sort for anything before you can get the job. This is advance fee fraud: there is no job -- it's just a big con to extract money from you.
  • they want you to buy any kind of "membership" or "kit" in order to start. Forget it -- it's not a real job at all: they're trying to sell you something, and they're probably making a bunch of other false claims about it if they're pitching it as a "job".
  • it's a job offer, and it's spam. There are LOTS of these scams about, as you can see.

David Samuels, Business Development

This guy has been spamming pretty broadly, hitting my Gmail account and others. The job offer is vague, but clearly he's fishing for victims, not employees. If you've corresponded with this guy, post details as comments.

Have a nice day!

company. Please, read this information very attentively, analyzing all
the details.

About Business Development Group:
Our company was founded in 2004 and we work with the countries of
Europe, Asia, America, etc. Our Company solves not only the questions
concerning investments in medium and large business, but also such
questions as search for the most beneficial ways of transferring money
from our clients to us and vice versa. That is why we work with
thousands of people all over the world. And you can become our
representative in your city.

Carrier opportunities in our company:
The money circulation of our company is about 250-300 million dollars
per month. 50-100 thousand dollars pass through each representative of
our company per month. Business Development Group is located in
Minnesota (USA). Business Development Group cares about our clients
and employees. Today we have more than 3000 employees all over the
world. We offer you a job that you won't be able to reject.

Our company's work principle:
Our aim is to make money investments in medium and large businesses.
We look for a representative in the country where our client lives and
make transfer through him. We also give all the instructions
concerning the transfer, call our representative and explain him what
to do. We are cooperating with other companies all over the world, so
we have many clients and partners.

Below, you'll find a brief overview of the most frequently asked
questions that many prospective employees have voiced.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) If I have a general partnership between Business Development
Group and a client, where will the money come from and who should it
be transferred to?

The manager job primarily revolves around payment processing. Their
task includes receiving or sending the payment provided by the client.
For example, we loan the money to our client. We send it to our
representative and he makes the transfer to our clients` bank account.
Money should be sent to other clients and you will be paid on a
commission basis (percentage of transferred money amount).

2) Why do not we send the money directly to our client?

The interest rate for transfers of Companies is higher than it is for
physical bodies. That is why we make transfers through physical
bodies.

3) Should I sign a contract in order to work for Business Development Group?
Yes, if you are interested, we will send you a copy of the contract
that you should then fill in and sign. When you fill in the contract,
you should send it us by e-mail. After reviewing your data, we will
inform you by e-mail about the results.

4) What happens if I don't send money and keep it for myself?
It will be immediately countered and refunded. Your information will
be sent immediately to the Federal Office on the basis of criminal
theft. Interpol and other international organizations will also
receive your information in the event that you decided to
withhold/steal money.

5) Will my salary depend on my working speed?
Certainly, after the money had been sent to the proper location, you
should follow immediately our instructions. Our long-term cooperation,
as well as your salary, will depend on your trading speed and
reliability.

6) What percentage of the sum will I get for my work?
It depends on the quality and speed of your work. The main commission
rate is currently set at 5%. However, the better you work the higher
interest you receive.

7) How much money should I expect to handle on a daily basis?
Total amounts may range from 500 to 100,000 Euros (experienced
recruits will have more responsibility, therefore handle more money).

8) How long should I wait to begin working after submitting my application?
It depends on the time required to review your application and the
availability of financial operations.

9) What other jobs are available?
New job openings with unique requirements will be always available.

10) How can I leave my services in the company?
Termination may be declared at any time by two contracting sides.
However, prior to termination, all bilateral commitments should be
met; otherwise employee's dismissal is impossible. In other words, if
you have our money, goods, etc., you should give it back before
dismissal. From our part we are obliged to fulfill our commitments
(wages, etc.) before the dismissal.

For example:
We make a money transfer of 10000 Euros. At the beginning of our
business partnership, your remuneration is 5%. Your 5% of 10000 would
be 500 Euros. We will contact you by email, or call you and say where
and how you should transfer the remaining 9500 Euros. The shipment
charges are included into the sum settled. We help our
representatives, so don't hesitate to contact us with any questions
concerning your tasks.

We don't need your tax card. And no money investments are needed from you.

If you are interested in our job offer, you should reply with your
resume and contact information to our e-mail address:
businessgroup.development@gmail.com
Don't hesitate to contact us with all the questions concerning this job offer.

Kindest regards,
Administrative Director
David Samuels

I don't know how this one got thru the net, G-mail is usually pretty good at catching spam on my account.

The golden rule - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
