I have a pretty good spam filter but, as we've discovered, some of these lulus do slip through and, since I am an English teacher, I laugh loud and long at the clumsy grammar, poor spelling, and generally bad writing. I will venture a guess that the first language of many 419'ers is not even English. So their prime motivation is greed, not clear communication. Thus they are utterly clueless in regard to matters of grammar or spelling. The mangled messages then serve as a sort of 'template', and I have had many a snicker, tracking the recurring flubs and syntactical boo-boos. Recently, I have been getting e.mails from scammers posing as women, wanting to "knew me better for relation." My e. tag clearly contains a suffix that would tell any English speaker/writer with half a brain that I am in fact female, and not 'looking for a wife." Whatever. With all the problems facing our world today, wouldn't you think these idiots could find some positive use for all the energy required to perpetuate and forward this electronic cow puckey?
